We've been tagged

We gots tagged by the most wonderful Bunny. But, since I don’t follow directions well, I thinks my mum needs to da post. And plus, I wasn’t around four years ago when the photo was takens.

So here are da rules

  1.  blah
  2. blah
  3. blahare to
And nows I hand it over to mum.
The rules are to post the tenth picture in the first photo folder, which happened to be a photo of Albert from four years ago.

This is a photo of Albert taken Monday, March 11, 2007, the day after he had back surgery for a ruptured disc. Ok, so now let me back up to Saturday night.

On Saturday night Albert was outside with my daughter, husband, and me. Albert was not acting like his usual self, no running, no playing around. He wouldn’t come when I called him so I knew something was right with him but I just wasn’t sure what it was. He had no visible injuries and he could walk though he was slow, and didn’t look like he was in pain. That night I slept on the couch with him, he sleeps in the big bed with me usually but I felt uneasy about it that night. The next morning when I put Albert down on the floor I knew instantly it was his back….he was paralyzed. When he walked his legs would drag. I think my heart stopped for a second. I called the vet’s office and got the answering service and was told I would have to take Albert to the Emergency Clinic since it was Sunday. I wasn’t happy with having to drive my paralyzed boy 40 minutes away so I called my vet at home to see what do. Dr. Orr reassured me that Albert would be in the best hands in Greenville and taking him there would be the best thing for him. So off to Greenville we went with my three year old daughter and mom in tow.

When we got to the clinic Albert was immediately evaluated by a doctor. The doctor looked at me and informed me that he would have to send an orthopedic surgeon in. Before the surgeon came in though they sent Albert back to have a mylegram performed. Shortly later, Dr. Ritter came in, the orthopedic surgeon, and explained what we were facing and explained our options. I absolutely could not comprehend what he was saying to me so I called Dr. Orr for help. I explained to Dr. Orr what I had been told and he re-explained it to me and went back over the options with me and basically helped me with the decision that had to be made. It was decided that Albert would go through with surgery. It was a long, complicated and, tedious procedure. The very next day he started taking steps, it was a beautiful sight.Today, you never be able to tell that Albert had had back surgery. He is back in the big bed and running but his jumping is over.

It was an expensive surgery but what Albert had given me in the almost five years of having him was so much more than the cost of his procedure. I owed it to him to do the right thing. He is my best friend.

Ok furiends I'll be back on Friday,

Kibble Swiping

Todays I going to show you how I swipe a morsel of kibble. Now, dis not for a weak heart so don’t hold your breath and too, it’s picture heavy.
First, I eyes the kibble.

Then withs ears propped to listen out for my opponenet but eyes still on the kibble, I gets low to the ground.
(check out Whitney’s eyes in the shot)
I haves to wait since Whitney knows I’m on the prowl.

Now all is clear and she has gone back to eating and I cans continue my mission.

I spy on Whitney just to make sure.

Then I eyes my kibble and ever so gently sneaks up to it.

And nows, I swipe my morsel and all is wonderful.

The End.

Peace Out,

Drum Roll pwees

Finally, someone other than me gets in truble...Albert. That right, mum's pride and joy, the boy who does no wrong. Well let's me tell you what happened. We was all outside romping and suddenly Albert vanished. Hold your pee, he didn't leave the yard. He gone under the deck snooping. He founnd was a widderbeast. So I goes to help him with the widderbeast. Brudde not like that, apparently I was interfering instead of helping so he starts showing me his big teefys.

Here is the good part, mum get under the deck to check on us and BAM…she sees his glaring teef. Ah at last mama’s boy gets a scolding. And the…and then, he starts kissing on me. Ha, I say, you done been busted.
I was telling mum I just trying to help Albert with the widderbeast cuz they big and nasty. Then she says, it was just a chipmunk. Oooops!

But, I think I love her regardless.
Puddles will be back on Friday for her commentary. She seems to have taken over the blog so not much for Whitney and I to do. And seriously, how and why did Puddles come up with sighning off Peace Out...that pup needs help.

Well, I’s made a deal with mum so I could get off restrictions; you know for taking Whitney’s medicine. Well, I tells mum I help her clean the house so I can go back to bloggin’. First I helps get alllll da bunnys out from hidin. They lots of bunnys to.

Then I helps clean da floor.

There, all done. Me helps clean. Brudder Albert says if I don’t make amends , mum will put a For Sale sign on me, I think he’s lying though. But, Whitney says not to worry cuz ever who would actually pay money for me would bring me back pronto. What she mean by that?

Oh and mum wanted me to say that she called the vet’s office about stealing accidently taking Whitney’s medicine and they said I would be ok. Then mum went and picked up another pill for her…I mean for Whitney, not for mum. Mum didn’t have to spaz out. If only she knew what I have eaten behind her back.

Peace out,

In Trouble

I got some bad news furfriends. I’s been put on restrictions. You see, Mum was giving us our heart worm medicine and I stoles Whitney’s right out of her mouth. It was an accident I tell you. Plain and simple. I didn’t mean to steal it. Ok really I thought it was a treat ...not a heart worm pill. So now Mum says I can’t be blog announcer for awhile and she will hand it over to brudder. But, I tells her he’s so BOOOOORING! Brudder says if I was more calm and balanced I wouldn’t get into so much trouble. What the heck is being calm and balanced mean anyway. That’s just stoopid. It’s the hoomans fault, you always blame them.

Peace Out,

We're Here!

Hello Loves, we have finally made it to the blogosphere. I am Albert but you can call me King Albert or Sir Albert. I am one heck of a good looking fella and I know this because my Mum tells me every day. I am also the alpha dog of my lot. Sometimes I let the little girl pretend she is alpha until it goes to her head and I have to take back over. My favorite activity is sleeping and barking at anything and everything that comes within earshot…the neighbors aren’t fond of us and the Fedex man hates us. Other than that I am very laid back and easy going.

Let’s see, some interesting facts about me…when I was just 5 yrs old I ruptured a disc and was paralyzed. No need to worry though, the humans took me for emergency surgery (a looooong surgery) and all went well. I started taking steps the next day. Today, you wouldn’t even know I had once been paralyzed. Another interesting fact is that my people had my manhood taken away on my birthday. Talk about cruel!!!! I mean, seriously what were they thinking.

Hello there! I am Puddles and I am an almost 2 year old light red little girl. The humans say I am a character but I thought I was a dachshund. I ‘m not a shy girl by any means. Well maybe when I go to the vet and they try to stick that thing up my butt. They say it’s a magic wand but I haven’t seen any magic yet.

A little ‘bout me…I am a Tomgirl, not much girlie about me except all those girlie sweaters they make me wear. I have a rather deep bark for my size too; it scares away the neighbor’s pit bulls. I am also a thief. The human child (which happens to be my girl) has lots of fun things around like Barbies. I loooove me some Barbie heads. Oh and I love some toilet paper and those fun things in the recycling bin. I am also a hunter, I love to hunt me some quarry. There is nothing safe in my territory because I am always on the prowl just ask the squirrels, and the ground hogs, and the birds, and the chipmunks. I also seem to have a lot of names like Demon Dog, Miss Great Dane-in-a-dachshund suit, Evilenie, Naked Girl, Little Bit, and tons more. I just don’t get it, what’s up with all the names? Oh yea, and I am 100% housetrained except when it’s raining, or it’s too cold or too hot. In that case I jump in the bathtub to do my business. Other than that I am very reliable.

My name is Whitney and I am the biological sister of Albert. Although we are getting on up in age we have just been brought together after almost 8 yrs. You see, I am a former breeding dog and when it was time for me to retire I was put on line to find a new home and by the grace of my tail my brudder’s Mum found me. My brudder and sissy have taught me lots of new things like barking at whatever, being on the couch, and digging. I think Puddles has taught me the most like, how to beg for food, and how much fun chewing on napkins can be. Oh and I love those tiny clothes that go on those tiny people Puddles chews on.

I have to admit I’m not the friendliest of the bunch. I growl at most things and most people. Mum says my temperament needs to be adjusted and she’s working with me. I love to be petted but I’m definitely not a lapdog or a snuggler….we’re working on that too.
