Our Christmas Tree Tradition

Hellos furiends!
Friday's with Chrissy was postponed last Friday due to
unforseen circumstances at da Puddles homestead.
Sees, it all started on Thursday when mum gotted all kerazy
and decided to put da freakin' Christmas tree up.
Yes, we has our tree up.

Mum had not been feelin' all spirity and even thoughted bouts NOT puttin'
up a tree dis year. Howevers, My Girl tolded mum dat we had to has a tree cuz it
was a tradition fur da tree lights to go out. Her sure is a smart one.

Anyways, on Thursday mum got da tree up and two hours later her only had four strands up lights on.
So her was makin' dis an all day process and even drug it into Friday.
Her kepted puttin' da lights on and takin' 'em back off and then back on and blah blah.
Hers a tad OCD...has to make sures everything is just so.
So Friday on night our tree was completed.
(I won't even mention da times her tooked da ornaments off and redid 'em.)
VOILA!

And heres what our tree looked like on Saturday night.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHA...no, your seein' things right.
DA LIGHTS WENT OUT ON DA TREE!!!!!!!!
I telled mum I was sorry fur laughin' so hard.

Afters MANY MANY MANY HBO words later mum founded da bum strand,
it was da second strand hers put on.
Hers fixed da tree lights.
And so da tradition did indeed continue dis year.
Mum not likes dis tradition.

Oh wells, but I did gets me a new ornament dis year.
It looks just like me doncha thinks?

Oh Puddles, we think your Mom's light's went out (in her brains)a long time ago. Just kidding. No not really.

We love your "lights out" picture. Isn't that always the way it goes.

We know that as soon as we get to Florida, our tree will be up and lit too. Mommy said it's easy, just pull it outta the box and plop it on the table. Done!

Wow that tree is just gorgeous even the one in the dark. Too funny. How fun that must be to get the tree up so early. The Mom did such a good job Puddles. Can she come here and put up a tree for us??? Just kidding. Take care and have a great week.

MOL at the comment you left on my blog...I should tell you what Mom's nickname was as a child but I'm afraid she'd go on strike.

That's a purty nice ornament of yourself you got there... We tried finding it on the tree though and couldn't see it. Did your mom put it on the back of the tree?

That is a lot of work putting up a tree with so many lights and ornaments. We usually watch other dogs during the Holiday Season. And after the first couple of times the greyhounds pulled down the tree and peed on it, We stopped putting up trees. What a cute Puddles ornament.

That is one fab tree or should we say was one fab tree. Ha ha we have the same problem every time we fish the lights out. Not this year as I am having a doggy tree just for me and Pip. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly

Teehee. We've got a 2' tall tree that takes Mom about 15 minutes to put up. True, it doesn't look as good as yours (when the lights are on - we'd venture that when the lights are off, all trees look pretty much the same!). We really like your ornament - so much so that we are going to make our Mom go look for a Doodle ornament.

Wow, that's a super tree and I love the dachshound ornament! Our tree looks like yours in the night, because it's still in the box hahaha

And that is why I have my husband put the lights on the tree! Every year I either put them on backwards or there is something wrong with the stand of lights in the middle!

The tree looks gorgeous! Your Mom is awesome Puddles!

Wowee, Puddles! Your (lit up, heehee) Christmas Tree is amazing! Well, if it looks that good in the end, I think it's worth mum going through all that trouble, and anyway, you get a good laugh out of it!
I think someone's modelled that decoration on you, Puddles!

What a pretty tree! And yes, it's definitely a tradition for the lights to go OUT! Momma is putting our tree up next weekend. She says Thanksgiving is so LATE this year that she doesn't want to wait for it!

Holy crap, we are lucky to get the tree up by 24th December on account of Mum being a miserable grinch and lazy to boot.
Your tree looks beautiful BTW.

Even if the lights went out, your tree is just spectacular, Puddles. Your Mom did a great job. Ours is not sure she is going to do a tree this year either - but we are working on changing her mind.

Bwaaaaa ha ha ha! Dad said the lights went out because she put the tree up before Thanksgiving!

I must say, you have a beautiful tree, and we were all wrangled into doing our annual Christmas card photo shoot today. Watch for the posts about that on Friday and Saturday. Rumor has it Dad even took secret video. Anyroo, I can't wait to see your Chrissy posts! Mom is still talking about us going to Bass Pro to pick one up. I tried to convince her it was a bad idea, but I keep hearing about the photos she can take. *sigh* Does your elf have one of the birthday outfits, too?

P.S. LOVE your blog header!

Hi Puddles, Samson here. typically my mommy, she forgot to mention that she put a link to your blog on our blog today. I'm telling you a boy has to think of everything. And then Gracie talked about you too in her comments.

Now, here's my forgetful mommy: In Sweden, we used to put the tree up on the day before Christmas Eve and keep it up until 12th night. What a different tradition. But I had to laugh at that black picture. You guys are so funny!

OMD that ornament looks just like you!! The tree is beautiful when it is all lit up, but not so much when it is not lit up. Maybe its just me on that one. Traditions are a wonderful thing and I am glad yours will go on. Puddles did you have anything to do with the lights going out?? You can tell me, I won't tell honest my little Puddles on a step.

O.M.D.....YOur MOms already put up the tree??!!! Geesh. I don't thinks Ma took the pumpkins off the front porch yet!!!
Okays, that is one PAWSOME lookin' tree Puddles!! I thinks you did a FABulous job!! Huh? she didn't? Well who did?? Ooooooh....okays, Ma just told me YOU didn't put up the tree butts your MOMS did....I was wonderin' how your height-challenged self hung all those lights and ornaments.....mystery solved!!! BOL
Well, Ma doesn't put up a big tree...I'm lucky if I gets a twig to play with. Okays, I'm lyin'. She sometimes gets one of those mini trees and throws some tinsel on it like in a Christmas Story...and sometimes a sad little sock or two! Festive, huh?!
Well, it's easy to take down!! BOL
Okays, I thinks your Moms deserves a bowl full of Cheetos and a twelve pack of Bud Light now....
I'll be right overs!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥☺

Aw Puddles, sorry but that was a total crack up! We were in need of a good laugh and your black photo certainly did that! Jeez, when our tree goes up, it takes about 10 minutes with mum and dad and the kids throwing on the lights, baubles and decorations, tinsel and anything else that gets in the way and Voila, it's done. We reckon it looks fabaroony. Thanks for sharing your Christmas tree. It is totally beautiful.
No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
